We’re happy to visit your property and talk through your
ideas — whether you’ve already mapped everything out or just know
you need more space.
We handle the entire process from start to finish:

✔ Managing plumbing and electrics
✔ Painting, decorating, and finishing touches
Our goal is to make the experience as smooth and stress-free as possible. You can continue living at home while we work, with minimal disruption to your daily life.
And if you’re still weighing your options, we can show you examples of past projects and put you in touch with previous clients for honest, first-hand feedback.
Is Your Loft Ready for a Conversion?
Before you begin, here are two key checks to see if your loft is suitable:
1. Loft Height
Measure from the top of the ceiling joists to the highest point of the loft. Ideally, you’ll need at least 2.3m of height. If it’s less, don’t worry—a conversion is still possible, though it may involve lowering your ceiling or raising the roof, which may require planning permission.
2. Permitted Development or Planning Permission?
Many loft conversions fall under permitted development, meaning no planning permission is needed—
- Up to 40 cubic metres for terraced houses
- Up to 50 cubic metres for semi-detached and detached homes
If your design goes beyond these limits, planning permission will be necessary. We’ll help guide you through the process and ensure your project complies with all regulations.
Types of Loft Conversions
We won’t bore you with industry jargon or endless diagrams — the truth is, there’s no “one size fits all” when it comes to loft conversions. Every home is different, and the best design depends entirely on the shape and structure of your existing roof.
While you may have heard terms like Rear Dormer, Hip to Gable, Velux, or even L-Shape lofts, we see those more as starting points — not fixed templates. In reality, most conversions involve a mix of methods tailored to make the most of your space.
Whether it’s transforming a bungalow with a double hip-to-gable and flat roof section or something more traditional, we focus on what’s right for your home — not just what fits a category. If you’re not sure what kind of loft you need, that’s okay. We’ll help you figure that out.
